Love in Miracles

Jesus was not defensive of himself. All of Jesus' miracles had one purpose, and that was love. Whenever he did something miraculous it was to help someone. Not to impress others. Not to prove that He is God, and all powerful. He did not want the "wow" of people, he wanted to HELP people. That is the thing driving Him, no need or desire to prove his validity. It's like he can care less what His accusers think of Him, He doesn't give it a thought. Instead He is overcome with an aggressive LOVE for the weary.

In Matthew 12:38-42 the Scribes and Pharisees ask Jesus for a sign. Jesus refuses with " you evil and adulterous". I think that's because Jesus knew they just wanted to be impressed. But that's not what He was about. If they did want help, He would have done anything, absolutely anything to help them.

Mark 7:32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;
That last verse just cracks me up. "but the more he charged them, so MUCH THE MORE a GREAT DEAL they published it." I can just picture Jesus whispering to them emphatically "Don't tell anyone about this, not anyone, this is top secret information, I don't want anyone to hear what I just did" But they just couldn't hold it in, and shout it out to everyone "Hey everybody look at this, Jesus healed him." Astounded Jesus waves his hands saying "wait! wait! I didn't want anyone to know about this". They're just so excited. so much more, a great deal they publish it. Now it doesn't say it, but it looks to me like all Jesus can do is turn away, throw up his hands, and say "oh well".

Jesus never says "gather around, look what I can do", to amaze everyone. In fact sometimes He said to not tell anyone of the miracle he did. See, He operated (and does today) solely out of a heart of care and compassion for those hurting. To all those asking for help, from afflictions.whom Satan was afflicting. All pain is from Satan, all healing is from God. Persecution of the saints is from Satan. Look at heaven, that is what God is like. Everything is full of wonder. Satan and his sin is the totality of all pain.
Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? (from Mark 8:27-29)
He simply asks "Who do you say I am?". He could say "I'll tell you who I am. the Savior Of The World!!!" But, He wouldn't be himself to say that, it's too self promoting. He's trying to promote others, rescue others, save others. The beast in Revelation 13:3 fights to CONVINCE people that he is God, by his miraculous healing. This healing was not to help others, it was only for his own gain. Jesus said that many will say they have done many such wonderful works, but really it is all selfishness (iniquity). That is the opposite of Jesus. There's no care in promoting ones self. Look at he magicians in Moses' day.

Now for you there (yes, my finger is pointing at you), do you need help? Do you need a miracle? You do, everybody does. Jesus Christ is still alive, He is still living to help you. He loves you, and is reaching out His hand to heal you. But you must believe. You must see your need, and ask for help. Jesus' left His Spirit for us here on earth when he rose back up to heaven (John 16:7-16, Romans 8:9-11). His presence is every bit as powerfull on earth now as it ever was. Call out for help... "Jesus help me, help me, help me! I am have this problem _____ (fill in blank), and need Your healing. I can't stop sinning in these areas ____, ____, ____, ____, ____ (list them all). Lord Jesus I cry aloud for Your cleansing power!" There; It is done. Don't doubt it, He has made all things good. What God has cleansed, don't call unclean. (Acts 10:15)

So when us followers of Jesus do miracles (which we should do, John 14:12), it should not be that part of our reason is to validate our selves, or to prove that we are the people of God. It should be solely out of a desire to help someone who is hurting.
