Post 62

I had the great joy of going camping and canoeing with my family and a few other families who are very dear friends of mine. We stayed from Thursday evening until Sunday evening. Some of my best memories of the trip were the wonderful times of worshiping the Lord late at night around the camp fire. Just praying, speaking scripture, and telling God how wonderful he is, also sitting silent thinking about him as a group. He truly is wonderful you know. Oh, that we may know Him deeper. And live in His life. And show His ways, to all the world.

Jesus prayed to his father for us in John 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." So is my prayer, "Lord may we know You. May the world know You. Use us to spread Your life."

Oh my friend, come to God. He wants to know you. He wants to be your friend. More than ever, in a true, full time, living friendship, He wants to know you. Don't let it be, I urge you, don't let it be that you spend your life "serving the Lord", but never knowing Him. Never actually spending time with Him, learning from Him sitting with Him, communing with Him, getting direction from Him. It is a very sad thing, I cannot express the gravity of the sadness when the Father with tears in his eyes will have to say to many a well meaning "Christian", "I never knew you, depart from me" Matthew 7:21-23. Do you and God know each other? If you do, his Spirit living in you will tell you so. Romans 8:16 "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:" Get to know God, don't let complacency, or any other sin hinder you. Repent of your sins, believe and receive Jesus' salvation for you personally. 2 Corinthians 7:10 "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death."

I am very thankful that we were able to spread the delightful life of Jesus, in several ways while on this camping outing. I will explain later in the pictures below.

Jeriah, bringing in the firewood. Nope, you never want to skimp on the campfires.

Some of the crew.

We played Capture the Flag, and some of the other kids from the campground joined us. These pictures were taken while I was in "jail". I spent quite a bit of time there.

I found the flag, a first ever for me! Just to make it clear, it was all fair and square too.

These are some of the kids who played with us. We got to talking about Jesus with them, how He can save us from our sin. And 3 of them gave professions of faith in Jesus! The other one already claimed Jesus. It's all so simple. Galatians 3:26 "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."

Mrs. Alessio

We had a Gospel and Sing time. The Alessio's sang a blissful song of worship to the Lord

Here's Katie singing a brand new song of hunger for God. I wish I had a recording for you. It's such a heartfelt yearning after God.

Here's Jim. One of the other campers. He sang some songs of praise. This shot is at the Sunday morning chapel meeting.

I got to play O Come, and Gotta' Let it Go. We really had a great time out in God's church here.

Ricky also has a great one, called "Seeing in Riddles" he sang and played for us.

This is just a funny one. Overcome by the heat, I dare say.

CJ asked for some prayer for his hearing, here the men are praying for him.

It's amazing how God works. Mr. Heyworth felt a burden for CJ's soul and started praying for him during communion, and Mr. Thompson talked with him about it. CJ thought he was saved before, but couldn't remember for sure. Mr. Thompson asked him if he believed Jesus had saved him from his sins, and he gave a resounding "yes". Then he gave a fresh statement of "Jesus is Lord" to all of us. At that I said "how about a baptism?". Mr. Thompson told me about how he had been talking about baptism with CJ, and Krista, about how it is associating ourselves with Christ, dying to sin, then resurrecting to a new life of Godliness. (Romans 6) So Mr. Thompson got to baptize his nephew and niece, CJ, and Krista. Right there in front of all these people. Believers and unbelievers, they all got to see, and loudly hear the glorious news of Christ.

They were both so excited, so full of the joy of Jesus!

Here's Lemuel, I can just hear him singing Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Now as I know you all like lots of picture, I have a collection of all of mine from the camping trip here.
