Post 232

I helped the church kids record several songs. It was Aurora's idea, and a good one it was. Take a listen. They turned out great...
  1. The Glory Song
  2. Yes He Is!
  3. Knowing You Jesus
  4. For I'm Persuaded to Believe
  5. There's a Man In the Glory
  6. My God and My All
  7. How Did You Feel?

We went to the Biddinger for a visit. Did some ice skating and sledding...

Phyllissa's 9th birthday.

Church ski trip...

Amanda and Phyllissa went swimming there.

I really like my new animal hat. It's a sock monkey. Such fun!

It was really great for us to be out with the church. It seems like we've missed several outings with them over the past months. I enjoyed all the edifying of one another that went on.

A message that's been on my heart a lot recently. Fresh Oil by Jack Hyles

Planted
I was praying for the Lord to give me "fresh oil" and He gave me this insight from Psalm 92. Be PLANTED in God. First you must be rooted in God, then you need to grow, and then you will bear fruit.
Ps. 92:12-15a The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; To shew that the LORD is upright:

1.  Get Rooted
After you receive Jesus, you need to get rooted in Him. How are you rooted?
Colossians 2:6,7 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
  • Faithfully Read the Bible. Look for fresh insights in it. Find the principles behind the stories.
  • Faithfully Pray. Keep close to God. Talk with Him about everything. Keep a record of what you pray for and of how God answers your prayers. This will root your faith.
  • Faithfully Fellowship. Talk of what you have received from God with other believers and listen to what God has shown them.
2. Grow
What's the use of hearing from God if you let it go to waste? Apply what God has gives you. Never let the Word of God sit stagnant in you. Go put it to use.

3. Be Fruitful
When you are rooted and growing in God you will be fruitful. The fruit will be in your own lifestyle and in the lives of those around you who you have touched.
Blessed is the man...(whose)... delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night... He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (Excerpts from Psalm 1)

Paul to the Ephesians...
Ephesians 3:14-19 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

You're never too old  to get rooted, you're never too old to grow, and you're never too old to be fruitful. How can you be more firmly planted in God?

God bless you all, and I love you.
